QCEC wastewater samplers flow meters dry samplers sampler flow meter FAQ contact QCEC

FAQs

Q: What types of samplers do you sell?

A: QCEC offers several different models to meet a variety of wastewater applications. We have two different models available in Refrigerated and Portable design.

QLS – Quick Lift Sampler is the only “self learning” smart sampling system in the world; available in composite and sequential. (both designs)

CVE-07 –is available in composite only. (both designs)

CVE-81 EXP – Explosion Proof is available in refrigerated composite only.

Model E – is for direct acting heavy duty or difficult sampling applications.

All units are built to order, handcrafted and custom made.

Q: What do you mean by self learning smart sampling system.
A: The QLS is the only sampler in the world that is capable of repeatable self calibration. Through self diagnostic it knows when your programmed sample size is off and will compensate for the difference every time.

Q: Do you have a sampler that will take flow-paced samples from a 4-20mA current loop and if so, which one?
A: Yes, all of the QLS models come standard with 4-20 input; the CVE-07 does not.

Q: How should I dispose of my old Lead Acid batteries?
A: We suggest you contact your local landfill or battery recycle center.

Q: How should I clean my sample containers?
A: We suggest you use warm soapy water with a mild detergent and a soft bristle brush.

Q: What should I do if I lose or forget the password for my program block on my sampler?
A: Contact QCEC at 515-266-2268 for the master password override procedure.

Q: What should I do if my sampler will not power up or loses power?
A: Go to your unit’s Operating Instructions Manual and see the Troubleshooting section. If you can not find it or have lost your Manual, then call QCEC at 515-266-2268 for assistance.

Q: How far from the sample source can the sampler be located?

A: For the QLS – the maximum horizontal distance is 150 feet. The maximum vertical distance is 28 feet. Long suction line lengths and high vertical lifts don’t reduce the pump life and components or affect the line velocity. It is better, but not necessary, to locate the sampler as close to the line source as possible when sampling from high vertical lift applications.

For the CVE-07 – the maximum horizontal distance is 50 feet and the maximum vertical distance is 28 feet.

Q: What types of strainers are available?
A: We offer two types in two sizes – 3/8” in a PVC/SST and all SST, and 5/8” in a PVC/SST and all SST

Q: Can I convert my QLS Sequential for single bottle composite sampling?
A: Yes, first disconnect the table's electrical connector, then remove the table and the sequencer locating plate. Then put the composite receptacle in place. Go to Bottle Options and change from Sequential to Composite bottle and sample type.

Q. Which sampler is the most basic, user friendly sampler that is also easily programmed?
A: The CVE-07 is available as a Refrigerated and a Portable unit equipped with a PLC that is pre-programmed for your needs.

Q: Can the CVE-07 take flow paced samples?
A: Yes. It takes flow paced samples; flow being measured by pulses.

Q: Are there other ways the CVE-07will take samples?
A: Yes. This model also takes sample by time and manually.

Q: What are the different ways the QLS will take a sample?
A: The QLS can take a sample on Time and Flow, flow being measured by pulses, 4-20mA, 0-10VDC or 0-5 VDC.

Q: Do your portable samplers have the same lift capability as the refrigerated samplers?
A: Yes, they both have a maximum vertical lift of 28 ft.

Q: Which refrigerated sampler should I use for outdoor applications?
A: QCEC offers an inclement weather fiberglass enclosure so you are not limited by harshness of diverse weather. Simply choose whichever sampler best suits your wants and needs and put it in the all-weather enclosure.

Q: How long is your warranty period?
A: We have the industry leading standard warranty of 2 years.
